we seldom get frozen here as its similar to Cornwall climate but when it does the outflow from the filter keeps that area ice free. Lucky you! Where do you live? SW Wales Pembrokeshire Well its better than North Korea

yep all cleaned out impeller checked and all the electrics and still a no go, so I ordered a new one yesterday, mine is the same sweetpea it's running 24-7 so as you say, they only have a certain shelf life. @willow the pump and filter are separate and that was new last year so I know it isn't the problem, checking it the cable has a couple of twists in it so it could be one of the wires has broken. Now all I have to do is wire the new one in

@willow has asked for a separate section to discuss other aspects of ponds, pumps, maintenance, problems etc. so some earlier posts from 'Pond Plants' have been transferred to this section.

I don't have electric near the pond sweetpea so have had a Blagdon powersafe unit installed but have to wire things in, I know it would be easier to add their plug and socket system but bit strapped atm

Hi grindle I think this is the pump I have but as I no longer have the box I can't tell for sure without removing it from pond. its very similar though so possibly a different model. link
