The Painted Lady butterflies have arrived up here now, there were 2 in the garden yesterday along with a variety of others, mostly on the buddleia & verbena.

lovely photos, I've seen very few butterflies so far this year, just some ringlets and gatekeepers but the weather's keeping them away

We had a spell of about a month or more with none at all grindle but now we seem to get little groups every time there's a sunny spell but still not as many as usual, it must have something to do with the odd weather nowadays.

There are two huge Budlia bushes in my garden. (Butterfly bushes). As a consequence, I've had ZILLIONS of cabbage whites, as well as a few other colourful types. Which probably explains why my nasturtion plant has been completely killed

I've seen a couple of butterflies in the garden but this is the first which has settled long enough for a photo - a peacock one which was enjoying the sun yesterday.

Noticing lots of butterflies this last week or two. I tend to get mixed up a little as to which varieties but all are welcome here. The valerian seems to have more than the buddleia for some reason.

Not that many butterflies here this year but like you I've noticed a few more around the last week or so, mostly whites but a few small tortoiseshells, holly blue, a couple of commas & peacocks & a lovely big Red Admiral which has been visiting the different buddleias recently.

I've seen more butterflies recently too, and I've seen a few grasshoppers this year, haven't seen any for several years until now.

I saw a small tortoiseshell as well last weekend when I looked out of the patio windows, turned round & picked up my camera to try & get a photo through the window & when I turned back it was just disappearing over the fence! I'm sure they do that on purpose sometimes!
