I popped into Wilko's today - and they had Dahlia tubers on sale for silly money. I didn't get any, because the tubers looked a bit small to me for the size of flower on the packets.
What do you experts think of buying from places like that?

I got a couple from Wilko today, "Arabian Knight" as I've always liked the look of that one, nice and dark.
I have another one from last summer (bronze leaf "Sunshine") which I lazily left in its pot and just brought indoors for the winter. It already has a good few shoots coming up which look green and healthy. I'll probably take cuttings from it when it's time.

Just 'Wilkinson's' I think, Richard.
Candy - I was in a hurry, so I just looked briefly. The packets looked small, though.

What do you experts think of buying from places like that? The size of the tuber does not matter, look and check the tubers are the tubers still plump do they feel firm between finger and thumb, if they meet that criteria they will be fine.

Thanks, your Dahliaship - I might try to go back, as they really were cheap! ;D No 'David Howard' though. I'm hoping that the GCs get their dahlias in soon.
