I don't normally grow wallflowers, Grindle - not sure why. I did grow some dwarf ones which flowered in both autumn and spring a few years ago.

I have them at the side of the house, and I did put some in the border this year, the small ones went into the containers, but the bad weather finished most of them off. The will all get pulled out this year when they've finished.

So don't you treat them like biennials, then?

a long time since I posted anything on here, this is the bay tree area as it looks now, I've been tidying up notoriously difficult planting area as the bay tree sucks all the moisture and sends runners up everywhere

That is a lovely area grindle. I love ferns and tree trunks, which sounds funny. This garden shows off both and you probably have primulas in the spring too.

thank you Cherry I'm gradually trying to add a few more primroses (the wild ones) as they do grow in some places, also I'm slowly adding cyclamen coum and hederifolium which I'm hoping will gradually spread. The dreaded bay tree suckers everywhere and sucks up all the moisture
