While feeding the fish earlier today a movement caught my eye. I may have been mistaken of course but it looked for all the world like I had startled a large frog. Thought it a bit early for them but will keep a lookout now and hopefully transfer it to the wildlife pond at the other end of the garden.

Not seen any here yet but then they've only got a water feature pot & a couple of buckets of water to get frisky in here at the moment!

Went to check how the daffs are doing and noticed the wildlife pond was seething with a lot of splashing so I sneaked down in stealth mode and several frogs were seen and when I got to the pond I noticed loads of frogspawn all over and I mean loads. Looks like lots of tadpoles before long. Just hope the cats don't get too interested.

Caught the frog in the fish pond and relocated it down to the wildlife pond. At least it will be able to come and go much easier.

got plenty of frogspawn in the pond now I have never been successful with getting frogs to come to my garden even with water would the several cats roaming around be a problem? I would like to try again . I have a feeling I have said all this before somewhere .

It could be the cats ladybird , it depends on their natures. At our old house we had a tiny pond & a few frogs as well as our own cat & other cats in the neighbourhood for years & they all got along fine & then two very lively young cats moved in nearby & they loved to catch frogs & 'play' with them. I saw them in a neighbour's garden chasing frogs & found one or two little dead bodies in ours & didn't see any frogs at all there last year.

not much room for frolicking then Sue Grindle, could it be referred to as froggling?

yep like that, from now on it will be froggling Dai Two of them had lost their way, firmly attached, sitting in the gateway, good job I didn't step on them

Putting a new path in at the allotments today I, gently, had to relocate 3 pairs of frogs froggling. There was also 1 poor fellow who almost got flattened. I`d put some chippings in the area I was working on, as I was just about to tamp the stone down, this little head poked through and I had to dig him out. He seemed quite indignant at the rescue.
