The fishy family of 4.
Top Left clockwise:
Scaley - Fairy's Shiny Dumbledore - HH's choice (The silver one) Glitter - Pirate's - (black body and distinct orange tail) Queeny - Mine (orange face, white belly, black spots at the top of his back, black towards the end of his tail and orange back tail fin).
& why is mine called Queeny well because he looked a bit of a diva and liked hiding in the orange / yellow pineapple throne (well if Glitter can have the lighthouse as his personal water closet). After picking 2 boys by just picking the ones that they liked best, we needed to avoid getting a female or there would be babies and they would be baby babies as they are livebearers*.
(Which apparently become a tasty protein snack for the adult fish unless the small fry are very lucky.)
Every time I picked a fish it was a girl. We were reassured that both Shiny Dumbledore and Queeny are boys. Now of the 4 my Queeny is the one that looks the erm 'plumpist' but if he turns into actually she won't be impressed. So
*livebearers, are fish that retain the eggs inside the body and give birth to live, free-swimming young.

I haven't been ignoring poor Pirate, I have been making her laugh and distracting her with things like this: Zebra cake
Have been given a request already to make the rainbow ice-cream cake. "It's incredible"
Anyway it is 'Calpol o'clock' and I am taking her back to bed. Night All from the both of us.

Thanks for the fish update Moonlight. And the Zebra cake is remarkable. I've never seen anything like it before ! I didn't watch the video; was it hard to make ?

Hope Pirate is feeling better this morning Moonlight. Very impressed with the new tank residents. That zebra cake does look great, you can almost feel it rotting your teeth just watching the video!

erm no. My daughter might have been poorly but there was no way in the Universe that I was going to make a cake at that time of night. Actually I hardly ever make cakes but have made banana cake before which was yummy. Few and far between cake cooking. Made her laugh every time she said: "ZeeeeeeeeeeeeeeBra" not American and certainly not the kind of jolly but I do have a sense of humour.
Pirate is penciling it in for half term I think.

Now this is the one Pirate seriously has her eye on making and if that doesn't rot your teeth nothing will!
Rainbow Ice-Cream cake
"Can we make that one now?" "No" "Can we watch just one more?" "No it is Calpol O'clock*. I am taking you back to bed now."
*Calpol O'clock is the time by when the dose of Calpol should have kicked in and tiredness can overcome the poorly person's poorliness.

Pleased to also mention that with a dose of the Magic Medicine that is 'Calpol' and instructions to wear her hat if she goes outside Pirate and Fairy both went off to school quite happily all things considered. Roll on Half Term.

2 more cold days. Yesterday it was frosty but today it must have rained over night because HH had to scrape the ice off the car. Luckily my dahlias are all covered up. It seems like the majority of people have started their tubers off by now. Good thing that I haven't because I don't have any heating and I have some broken windowpanes in my greenhouse.
