Good to see you posting Roofy even if it's not all good news, you can still grow a little bit in your polytunnel, your tomatoes & salads did well in there last year didn't they? What a shame you've been squeezed into a corner, it sounds like you're collateral damage in the divorce, they might end up fighting for custody of you!

Sorry to hear you're being squeezed out on your roofgarden, but there is still a bit of space for the time being, it's not too late to get something going either, I'm sure something will sort itself out eventually, not that it helps in the short term, as KC said start growing upwards

You're too kind roofgardener. Great comparing notes again. I'll upload to a new thread if I can, don't know if I can upload to here straight from my phone

Hiya all Well, what the photo doesn't clearly show is that I've still got the annexe area... and the bit up against the wall running up to my door. So it's far from doom and gloom. Perhaps the restriction will focus me a bit more

Indeed I will daitheplant. Umm..... is that a type of climbing plant ? Speaking of which (both adversity and climbing), we are in Wales this week; a lovely seaside village called Barmouth. (we being myself, Sister, Bronwyn and Owliver.) It is a lovely little stone cottage halfway up a mountain. (my Sister refers to it as a hummock, but there are 81 steps to get us down to street level). I am using a very primitive and slow laptop (I suspect it is actually an Etch-O-Sketch machine), and a Welsh Broadband link. The combination of the two is incredibly frustrating and slow. Anyway, Bronwyn and Owliver are happy, and enjoying the (admittedly) spectacular view ! . Sorry about the large (and slow to load) picture... this Etch-O-Sketch machine doesn't have any proper graphics software on it. Meanwhile, I have been using some useful Welsh phrases ! Mae'r bryn yn dal iawn | This hill is very tall | Diar, mae'r llwybr yn serth .... | Gosh, this path is steep ... | SUT llawer o gamau? | HOW many steps ? | Fy nhraed yn brifo ! | My feet hurt ! | Mae hwn yn edrych yn fan 'n glws. 'N annhymerus' jyst yn gorwedd i lawr ac yn marw nawr! | This looks like a nice spot. I'll just lay down and die now ! |
[/i]. Well, that's it for now; not much in the way of horticultural discussions. Hopefully, on the weekend (when we get back), I'll be able to post photographs of my blisters, assuming that my feet still exist !

The Cottage is lovely, and has a very high level of equipment. It even has books and games. We discovered a box of Welsh Scrabble !!! It's like normal Scrabble, but half of the vowels have been removed ! < hides under table to escape Wrath Of dianthus and daitheplant >. Well, that's it for now; not much in the way of horticultural discussions. certainly is a spectacular view, the steps will get easier, probably by the time you're ready to come home, certainly have some good weather for your holiday, enjoy the rest of it, hope the owls are using plenty of sun screen

I envy the view Roofy but not all those steps, you'll have very strong calf muscles by the time you go home!

Sorry to hear about your restricted space, and damage to the polytunnel. I hope things get better for you.

I slept brilliantly as well dianthus. Until the alarm went off, and Sister dragged me out to walk 500 miles ! (that's not true... she was very understanding... and encouraged me rather than bullying me) (and it was only around 4 miles on any given day).
