Making progress This is my cheap and secure system for attaching the pipe to the beds, The MDPE water pipe for the arches are 25mm in diameter and the floPlast pipe is 32mm . I made two large holes in the front of each 30cm lengh of floPipe to secure the pipe to the wood. The screws are fixed to the inside of the pipe wall and this leaves the inside clear for the arched pipe. I have also hammered in two thin long nails, making an X inside so the arched pipe stops there and they will all be the same height. The arches are easily removed later when not needed. making the big holes is a bit of a problem I had to heat up a screw driver amd melt them which took some time. Anyone know of a quicker way with out a circular drill bit ?

It looks good ladybird. You could try drawing a circle on the pipe & then drilling lots of holes close together around it until it falls out maybe?

I eventually drilled pilot holes SueA. then uses the biggest drill bit I had to make the holes bigger . I still had to melt the circle a little larger but so much quicker now . A bit short of floPipe to finish bed 2 but nearly done. Bed 1 is very narrow so I might just use Lidl polytunnels for that, or make a cold frame cover . Think I might have got carried away somewhat with the hoops.

You're brilliant doing all that ladybird, I wouldn't know how to begin ! Thanks Eli, I really enjoy a bit of diy in the garden and I have plenty of ideas for the remaining fence panels I`ve had to knock it on the head for the time being as I`m now sewing scrubs for "NI Scrubs" apparently there is a real shortage of them here and this group started to get all the sewers to make them out of what ever they can get their hands on. Duvets, sheets and now companies have donated fabric as well. So all I`m doing ATM is watering in the greenhouse.

Tomatoes are growing well in the heated propagator even though I hadn't had the heat on for several days now butI feel the sand warming up with the sun. The greenhouse is chocablock and I don't like to put stuff on the bottom shelf as I tend to forget about them or they get straggly. so I've had to make an emergency shelf.

This is the first cover for my new small bed made with B&Q builders polythene,I`m using it for hardening off at the moment. I sewed Little loops of marine canvas with some elastic and hooks to secure it in place and so far it works really well . I can easily turn back both ends but not quite sure yet how to open it fully with out taking the polythene off completely. It will be interesting to see how long this plastic lasts . I've used it to make a cover for the heated propagator in the greenhouse and its been good for 2 years so far. I have some yellow tinged uv polythene for the other beds.
