It looks very neat & tidy now roofgardener, hope nothing blew away in the wind yesterday! Very professional video too & you've found a little film star in that dunnock.

Well you have certainly learnt how to deal with strong winds in the past roofgardener, so I hope the tunnel is ok. The weather, birds and wildlife will be quite different at base level.

Very true Cherry. I've already become fascinated with the birds, something that I never bothered with in the old Roofgarden. I'v got to china troughs for bird food. One for coarse seeds for the wood pidgeons, and the other with smaller stuff for the sparrows and robins. (special fine-grained seeds, sultanas, fat pellets, meal worms, bread, and things like chicken and fish skins and chips n' tha' ). I've had house sparrows and robins, wood pidgeons and - more recently - magpies. Also Starlings, but not at the moment.

Important update: Following the storm last night, Kneeton Road (the road outside my cottage) has now been renamed Kneeton Brook !
This has improved the view from my kitchen window no end ! I can now sit sipping tea, and watch ducks and small boats go past !

Well, I was a little bored yesterday afternoon, sitting in my Polytunnel in case it tried to blow away. So I've planted about 10 Begonia corms 'wot I bought in 2018. No idea if they'll germinate. I've also planted another 12 onion seeds. My miniature daffodils have opened up, and are looking very pretty. I've also got some Primroses and some hyacynths emerging. Along with a load of weeds. Grrr...... Oh.. and the helibore has sprouted some flowers. It's non-stop here at the Cottage ! Sadly, I left my video camera - and my mobile phone - at work on Friday, so I don't have any photographs of the Tidy Zone for grindle to identify the flora.. but I WILL get around to this early next week.

Yay - the birds have returned.
I've had a solitary robin, a pair of blackbirds, and a wood pigeon that have kept me company over winter. But thismorning a couple of house sparrows came down to the feeding table, along with a squabble of starlings.
I guess they've migrated back to the UK ?

It could be a female frog full of eggs Roofy, they do get enormous, the one I saw mating in the pond here a few weeks ago looked like she'd been blown up with a bicycle pump! You may notice some frogspawn appearing in the pond soon.
