It is lovely & has brought the site back to life grindle although it has caused some controversy with the Scout camp being turfed out but given a new site just a short walk away & some of the roe deer which had been rounded up escaping from their enclosure & being shot! They said it was because the deer would have damaged the planting & trees & they weren't able to catch them & round them up as before due to Covid restrictions. We used to go to the garden centre which was there before in part of the walled garden but that gradually died off & a lot of the garden site was overgrown & wild, when we were there the birds seemed to be happy in the woodland so hopefully they weren't disturbed too much. The council have negotiated with the RHS to let Salford residents go in free on Tuesdays for the first year & it seems to be booked up for that for a lot of the year already. We'll be booking to go again for another look soon if we can get in, it's free for us as I'm in the RHS so O.H. can't complain!

That's an interesting place SueA The woodland scene and that lake look natural and peaceful. It seems a bit drastic to shoot the deer though. It's like something done in a panic rather than something thought through logically. I feel quite disgusted really. It's nice that you can go in free

Lucky you SueA. I watched the making of the garden. What a project!
