Hello - I've found my way here at last - and I'm also a plant-a-holic... Good to see some "wellkent" faces here too. I didn't heat my greenhouse this year and I'm spending my time looking at catalogues now as I just might have to replace lots of plants.... I can make a wish list anyway!

Thanks to everyone for your welcomes! I am finding it tricky to navigate my way around this site, but I think I am getting the hang! Yes, you do all know me if you think you do..and yes, Aberdeenshire is a lot lot colder than Carnoustie! We have the effect of the Firth of Tay to thank for that, and I only live a mile from the beach....lovely....this is definitely the farthest North I am going to live though (famous last words!) See you all on the forums! x

Hallo again - keep at it, you'll soon get the hang of it. Just ask if you get stuck.

Living by the sea would be warmer than inland. My husband used to drop parachutists at Barry Buddon and Arbroath and stop in the Station Hotel at Carnoustie (where you walk out straight onto the platform). I have flown up there to meet my daughter who would come from Ediinburgh to pick me up.
