Welcome to the forums Jrae and well spotted yes you would be hard done to find a friendlier forum out there This one has the leading Dahlia section out of them all, built up by our residens expert Tel, and frequented by many of the top showers and growers....have a browse through the Dahlia sections and put a query to Tel he enjoys helping whenever he can

Welcome from me too Jrae, If you are looking for a friendly forum for tips on anything you have found the right one. Anyone interested in growing dahlias who uses google for finding out information on dahlias, there is a very good chance on coming across this forum, because a lot of questions googled may have been answered on here by a dahlia grower and it will come up on google. Don't be afraid to join in, if you have a question on dahlia growing even if you think it is a daft question, please ask, one of the dahlia growers will have answer for you.

I've noticed lately that new members come on here as advertisers/ambassadors for their websites. Is that allowed ? I ask because on similar websites it's a banned practice - no free advertising.

There is an option in your profile to make a link to your web site if you own one so proboards seem to be ok with this....I think where we have had a problem in the past is with blatant advertising of a company like insurance or greenhouses etc...difficulty is where to draw the line
Personally I also dislike the forums where people have their names and messages all lit up and flashing like Blackpool illuminations and I avoid these totally

Actually Lou, I remember an avatar on our forum which drove me to distraction. I am learning to disregard the advertising when we have to have it.
