I am so rude!
I've been posting for 5 days now and haven't introduced myself!
My name is Richard and I am addicted to dahlias, I accept that the problem is bigger than me, my only excuse is that I grew up on the biggest and best dahlias nursery in the country in the 50's and 60's, I am here to share my problem and seek guidance to assist me to a recovery point!
Seriously, why doesn't everyone with a garden grow at least a few dahlias!
I do not exhibit but do grow on a semi-commercial basis selling cut flower through local, high quality, outlets.
Looking forward to a great year in the dahlia beds, may all your blooms grow on straight stems and not be over-sized.

For anyone who doesn't yet know SP, he's too modest to say that amongst his MANY tallents (well he was in the Marines) he's forgotten more than most of us know about Sweetpeas.

Hiya Kath - I'm pleased to see you! Sorry I haven't posted the seeds to you yet - I will ASAP. They're sitting here waiting for me to take them up to the Post Office - not that you can sow them yet!

I grow a cultivar Geerlings Cupido, smashing colour, smashing habit but the blooms just do not present well on the stem, it's a real shame. But, it is brilliant as a cut flower. [/img] ... but clock faced it is, sometimes
