Thanks Cherry. Sadly its looking increasingly likely that mum wont be able to come home, unless she makes a dramatic recovery (she is rather confused as well as immobile), so I'm just going to do the bare minimum when I get the chance as its possible we might be forced to sell the house at some point

Cathy I am very sorry to hear this news and hope the outcome might change for the better. Stay in touch and just concentrate on getting your mother better. If you feel like gardening, do keep us posted. Keep in touch anyway. We do have a chat thread called 'Over the Garden Fence' where we can write anything at all, garden related or not.

Welcome to the forums Emma. I don't think you will need help, as this forum is well labelled and easy to negotiate. We show off in the Flowers & Foliage of the month and gossip in Over the Fence (This is my facebook!) The dahlias topics cater for exhibitors, professionals and enthusiasts. Please tell us about your garden.

Oh, Emma! What temptations you must face every day! Tel is one of our members - he grows superb Dahlias, so if you want any help on them you could ask him. There are several Dahlia growers on the forum, so you'll be spoilt fer choice.

How wonderful @hippyemma. That is the shortcut to turning into an expert.

Hi emma, I did get your pm but never got round to answering it - sorry. As cherry says the forum is pretty much user friendly and if you require assistance on anything just ask. Usually someone can help though not always. Anyway this is for you by way of an apology: link

Shame on you sweetpea. How often does a lovely young gardener write to you? Now answer Emma and tell her that you are a real sweet pea expert and showed us on the forum how to grow to exhibition standard. Oh well, I have said it now.
