Not everyone wants to observe the religious festivals/retail opening times and as such it's good to be able to carry on life as normal. One friend that went said it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere ..... i'm taking her to collect her plants later this week.

sounds like the perfect solution, I still can't see why everything has to close on Easter Sunday, when every other Sunday is open, seems like double standards

You should come to Scotland ;D, nowt closes for anything up here. Also easter opening regs aren't enforced here as it's not a big holiday like in England.
I am looking forward to the royal wedding too. although Kate is a bit on the skinny side, she need half a stone on her!!

I'm a Christian and go to church each week, but I feel the same as you all do about Easter Sunday closing of stores. I can't see the logic, except that it is the most important Christian festival of the year.
However, when Christians are being told they can't wear crosses I do think you're right about the double standards.

I do get annoyed about this country sometimes.... Rant over now ;D
