Hello, I am a perennial gardening newbie and as you can see, I'm a Canuck also. My growing zone is 5a - which is according to the U.S. zoning map that has the same standards as U.K./Europe.
I only have a small suburban yard but really enjoy trying to add as much colour to it as I can because of our short season.
