Cheeky young jay down in the garden yesterday snaffling the peanuts. It's been flying over the garden a lot recently heading for the oak tree at the back of us to collect acorns, it's a fight between it & the squirrel to see who can strip the tree fastest, we have acorns buried all over the garden & in all the pots!

I love the colour of Jays, did you see the other day where Bee Eaters are starting to breed over here? they are really colourful, they say no young have been successfully raised yet but are hopeful the colony will get larger and permanent over the next few years

I did see the bee eaters on Autumnwatch steve, would love to see them, they remind me of a more exotic kingfisher!
