Allotment holders meeting tonight, rents are due and are going up to £35.Word is that the bloke with the garden next to me is not prepared to pay that and is going to pack his in.Which would be ideal for me I have had my eye on that garden for ages.

Starting to re-plan Tel it means I can space them out more than I have been doing,be able to give myself more room to work .I will be looking to grow about 220 in my original garden instead of the 300 last year.If I decide to I will be able to get the same in the new garden.

Heard to day that the bloke in the garden next to me will be handing his keys in on tuesday so hopefully come tuesday I will have 2 allotments. Trouble with having 2 allotments is that under new government regulations you will be liable for environment tax. It's based on square metres so anyone with a 20 sq metre plot, which isn't a lot really, will have to pay £100 a year to your local authority. Sounds a bit petty but if you think of the number of people with allotments then it will raise millions a year for the government.
