Well out of this lot we have to find some entries for this years show. Half the quantity I normally put in, more than what I expected after the last few weeks. Will be a lot of mixing and matching but am hoping for 17 vases. A couple of entries will be good. The rest will add a bit of colour to the benches No giants at all ready, only one vase of small decs, senzoe ursula......that should be one of the good ones. At least I'll be home nice and early tomorrow morning

Thanks to all, always nice to see them cut and ready to go. Will post pictures later today or tomorrow, depending on when I wake up, concentratilng on the fronts of the blooms only I did manage 17 vases, from which I got 7 firsts, 3 seconds and one third. The 2nds and thirds came in classes I'd already got the first in. Just the giants and smalls I couldn't enter, but I've got Winholme Diane and Ryecroft Brenda to look forward to this week. And of course the giants. Entries throughout the whole show, not just dahlias, were well down. Not a single chrysanthemum in the show which has never happened before. Let's hope the season catches up for all of you for your shows later on.

A few little pictures then. Starting off with small cactus. First for vase of 5, first for 3 vases of 3. Had to juggle things around a bit to get the entries, mainly with Ryecroft Zoe. Could have had a good vase of 5, but because of the 3 vase entry decided on 3 Zoe with my best 2 of Gilwood Terry G and Oakwood Goldcrest From the top, Zoe, Gilwood Terry G, and Oakwood Goldcrest And the 2 best Gilwood and Oakwood Small Decs..... finally got some decent Senzoe Ursula. They were arranged better than that.... top right sunk a bit and bottom right forward a bit, but I went through the oasis and thought i'd salvaged the arrangement a bit with a bit of packing and they looked good when I left. Judge must have disturbed them a bit And I wish I could get the colour to match properly, they are a bit lighter than that in real life. Medium semi cactus. 1st , 2nd and 3rd in single vase class. 1st in 3 vases of mediums. They looked half decent when arranged and a few petals removed from the moonlights. Pymms Moonlight 1st Susan Gilliott 2nd....few more days and these would have been really good Ruskin Bride 3rd and in the 3 vases class, from the top, Ruskin Bride, Pyms Moonlight and my Moonlight sport. As you can see, quite a nice colour difference between the Moonlights Medium Decs. Had a bit of a struggle to make up the single class and 3 vase class. Had some quite nice White Charlie Two that would have done well in the single class, but ended up putting them in the 3 vase class, and made up a vase of one Dikara Moon and 2 Ryecroft Magnum that looked really good at 2 am. Imagine my horror when arriving at the show to find 2 of them had dropped half their petals So, we were left with 1st...Ryecroft Rebel and in the 3 vases class, from the top, Ryecroft Rebel, Ryecroft Magnum and White Charlie Two and finally, 1st for Mary's Jomands in the miniature ball
