Single Bloom Class. The only 2 exhibits i had today were in this class I received 1st and 2nd out of the 14 exhibits 1st for Brenda T 2nd for Marion Storer Pom class A vase of Moorplace won this Small/Min Ball class This won the silver medal, i did not think it warranted it though, i thought the centre of the right hand bloom was to far gone. This Trelyn Kiwi received 1st in the min/small cactus/semi cactus class. I thought this exhibit deserved to be awarded the silver medal but the judge did not agree. ;D A vase of Brenda T won in the Small Dec/Min Dec class The winner in the Medium/Large cactus class The winner in the Medium/Large Dec class

Congratulations Tel. ;D The entries are all first class so the judge must have really worked. You must have put in a lot of work yourself. Not bad for someone who has moved twice recently.

Those are all nice blooms Tel I wish we had a climate more suited for dahlias but maybe in a few years when we move to new zealand I'd really be able to grow a lot of them.

Thanks everyone, I think it was fixed so i would win the single bloom class, so i would turn up next year to return the cup for that class. ;D May be just coincidence, but over the years that i have shown at Wilsden i have won all the other classes more than once, but never won the single bloom class before. Then this year because it has been a difficult year for me in more ways than one, i had no entries in those classes, just the two in the single bloom class and not only did i win it for the first time, but second as well. Plus the Cup given in memory of a dear friend and competitor of mine who died a couple of years ago with cancer.

Well done Tel u be back at harrogate next year.Looks like a lot of hillcrest candy in the show Tel what do you think of it. I grew it for the first time last year DC, never showed it, the colour of the petals seemed to be streaky to me. The moonlights seem to keep fending off all challengers, but they always mark up for me in Sept, the only one i have is Eastwood Moonlight but i cannot remember the last time i put it on the bench.

I don't think I will bother with candy next year tel but I am going to give eastwood another go a friend of mine as grown some good ones this year and he won the 3 vase class on sunday with it and they were as clean as a whistle.I am gonna give challenger another go too but it will be its last chance (don't know how many times I have said that) they are both worth another go as I will have room for about 420 covered next year when I get a frame up in the new garden.
