Well I've started lifting my tubers, only another couple of thousand (or so) to go I have seen quite a number with very long lateral roots (3 to 4 ft some of them) but not deep this year. I guess that is a result of all the rain; the plants did not need to get deep roots to get to water so spread laterally, anyone else seen this? However, so far, they all seem to have made good tubers so now feeling optimistic with regard to 2013 propagation. How are everyone else's?

I've only managed to dig eight of the Scaur Whisper tubers and they are quite healthy, the ground has become a swamp again ( only 1 period of 4 days with no rain for months) All other varieties are being composted because they did'nt like being under water! Someone quite close by has a pump on his lawn to stop a pond forming!!!!

Don't need many tubers for next years 40 plants as I propagate my own plants, 5 should do it. Had about 250 plants altogether. Lifted more Whisper tubers today & very surprised by how healthy they appear to be!! The other varieties have composted themselves in the ground ;D
