Good luck for all at Harrogate, I am really looking forward to going this year as its the first time we have been on the Friday so the blooms will be much fresher!
Should be my first dahlia show (that I have managed) this year on Saturday, but the weather has been so wet and cold this week I`ll be lucky to stage anything, i also have anither show the following week.
Its been a rubbish year for us as we were very behind with moving and not having a heated greenhouse for the cuttings, then it was ages until the sun came out followed by a really dry and hot spell mant the flowers were at least a month behind, and now of course rain - typical! Still theres always next year

I used to by online, but now buy it from our society. It's not the brand name Oasis but it still does the job. I think we pay £10 per box of 20 bricks. Each brick can be cut into three so a box will do around 60 vases. Make sure you get WET type floral foam not the dry one which will not work. Happy practicing.

Same here Mark, a box was enough for the shows I did.

Still theres always next year I know how you feel Candyblue when my blooms were looking ok for Harrogate about 3 years ago, until the day of cutting, everything had marked up overnight. Then like you after that I had to contend with moving twice in 12 months plus other things.

Entries for Harrogate show had to be in by last Saturday, sent mine off the Thursday before so they should have received it Friday, Sat at the latest. When the postie came today still no Exhibitors Number, from the NDS. Just so happens that Birkenshaw Pudsey turned out a load of rubbish this year. So I would not have taken it to Harrogate for the seedling class. The point is anyone entering dahlia classes at Harrogate in 2014 make sure your entry is posted off, well before the deadline for entries.

Sorry Tel. I did read that, but did not take it in. All the best for Harrogate. I am not going Cherry, two reasons I did not receive my exhibitor number and you need that, Plus the blooms on Pudsey were not right this year.

That is the one I have always fancied, as long as they have the band. I will keep an eye on the weather.
