just a question i have dahlia tubers in a box and dahlias that i put in pots last year and stored the same way i have my tubers some of the tubers have had mildew on them i have cleaned and dipped in flour of sulphur my q is the potted tubers and the stored tubers kept in the same place but dont seem to have had any problems whith the potted ones does anybody know why

I would guess your "potted" tubers were still in their pots, whereas the tubers in boxes are in cardboard? Doubt it's mildew either, some other bacterial or fungal growth that will grow on damp material in an enclosed environment. When I store tubers I bury them up to the crowns with dry peat, only after they are dry. Always store in an open, cool room. Never in a small enclosed space.
