Know we have a thread for growing Dahlias. On the thread various posters have put which ones they are growing.I tend to find myself scrolling back through to have a look. Then type it into google to have a look at images-So I wondered if it would be worthwhile posting what people are growing on a seperate thread.If enough people would be interested

Hi millman, the varieties I am hoping to grow are as follows:
Dikara Moon Hillcrest Candy Rossendale Peach Lady Linda Jowey Ingrid Ruskin Andrea Cherwell Skylark Trelyn Kiwi Westerton Folly Lilian Marston Mary's Jomanda Ryecroft Laura Pendre Sherbet Lemon (own seedling) Anne Breckenfelder Willo's Violet Taratahi Ruby Own seedling waterlily
Quantities vary from 40 Willo's Violet to 5 Dikara Moon. Aiming to show from 3rd week of August to 2nd week September with the main show being Bank Holiday Monday - Welsh Dahlia Society National Show.
Total plants needed for that will be 240.

30 Dikara Superb 30 Scaur Whisper 30 Marston George 30 seedling MinD 20 Rossendale Stephanie 30 Franz Kafka Some Willo's Violet & 2 other poms And more than likely lots of watercress (it's every where!) That's the plan, but you know what can happen to plans. & about 10 Challenger, to see if they like my garden.

The waterlilys are for Marie, she fancies a dabble this year. Could be trouble methinks if the dahlia bug hits her too. A couple of the guys at the Midlands talked her into it last year just to wind me up.

Hamari Gold and Silver city were all the rage about 30 years ago. The gold is a nice colour. Might be one i'll go back to one day. The only one i've not grown from your list is Elma E.

ps.Just ordered two more Hamari Girl Carstone Valiant Got an oldish book by a fellow named Damp .He mentions the Hamari series .But yes that was published in the 80s sometime.

Alf Ramsay(Giant ) and Elma E(large) are still winners and you still see the others in multi vase classes.
