sorry everyone this is not dahlia related but i had to post here is my new aquarium i bought it of a gentleman who paid 2000 pounds he just wanted rid of it i got it for 70 quid

I used to have a classroom that was as cold as an icebox in the mornings. I got myself a tropical fish tank - second hand and cheap like yours - and it kept the chill off surprisingly well having the big 70 litre tank evenly warm around the clock. Kids used to warm their hands against it in the mornings! So if you have any plants that need a stable temperature, near the tank may be just the spot.
We also had fun watching platies have endless babies in that tank. Cute little things.

Yes, the top of a fish tank seems such a useful heat source for growing things, but I have not had much luck either. Probably the low light levels - fish tanks should not be in direct sunlight.
