I need to cut my dahlias for a show tomorrow Weather isn't going to get any better and my dahlias are suffering.
Any advice much appreciated.

You can cut them today, place in buckets etc of water. Just make sure you pierce the stems below the water level, to let any air out of the stems. I use a pointed small knife to pierce the stem, then give it a slight twist, until any air bubbles have finished coming out of the stem.

Absolutely pouring now going outside and am basically going to hack back all the blooms that are over the edge of the path between so that at least I can move along before starting on my Westons. Not even going to try the Jomanda / Mary. Colerado Classic is going to be given the same treatment.

Good luck. Tel beat me to it. Been out working in friend's new home. Mainly cutting grass and some weeding plus with the new kittens all a bit hectic here.
