Yes they came up really well I was surprised when I lifted the my per sheet this morning the underside of the sheet was thick with frost, and by the way a very Happy Birthday for tomorrow Cherry

Afternoon everyone got the last of my dahlias dug up this morning all on drying out for the next 4weeks then the heat will be put on then we start all over again

well met up with ian k on the way back from Newcastle this morning had a good chat and a look at his set up its realy good food for thought I brought my willies but he had already finished lol again ian thanks for the tubers they are upside down in my greenhouse now drying have them, covered in fleece lost a Cpl of lables [lol] will go down tomorrow to trim up leave till after xmass and pot up again, ian many thanks I should have chucked our lass out the car I would have got a few more in

Hi robh your welcome mate. It's a shame as you grow them all year you pick the best tubers to propagate from and if you can't give the rest away to people they just end up on the compost heap.

Don't compost mine Ian . Seriously though, I hate getting rid of healthy tubers, always seems such a shame as you say. Still, hopefully you're finding good homes for some of them to forum members, so not to many going on the compost heap .

that's true ian I have offered plants and tubers to guys on the allotments but all you get from them is you cant eat flowers the trouble is there is no shows in my area ,when I was a kid up north all the working mens clubs had shows which was a great training ground for novice growers it is a great shame that they no longer do it

I know that lots of you show your dahlias have never thought about showin same as my other hobby fish keeping I support my local clubs but again I don't show them hovever I would be intrested to know can you estimate having your blooms ready for a particular show I just let mine grow and bush but obviously there must be some method as to achieve this

Will be working out the time from pea size to bloom, for a lot of different varieties. Should be fun... I (rofl)hope

well that's me nearly sorted with my dahlias many thanks to ian k just need to order from lochend ive chosen janal amy,kenora challenger,trooper dan, candy keen, ive promised my self no more, but none of the growers lists are up for 2015 yet,im gonna have to perfect thesize of my tubers so I can fit them on the bench in the green house
