I noticed to day that some of the dahlia's have smut already, down with the sprayer tomorrow morning now. What spray do you use for smut Tel. I use a couple a Bayer fungicide and a Bayer multi rose 3 in one.

Loads of buds showing on quite a few of mine. Even earlier than last year. A few varieties looking a bit stressed....Blyton Softer Gleam, Loretta and Barbarry Pip. Struggled getting cuttings from them even though tubers looked good. Even Mary's Jomanda took it's time getting going. Watering twice a day at present, gave them a good balanced fertiliser today, will switch to high potash next.

Already cutting flowers on the dahlias. These are all replanted tuber divisions and are being grown hard - no water, no feed, just cutting the blooms for the house. They will not be used for shows this year.

I am interested in what you guys use for general spraying, do you just spray when needed or use a general spray for aphids and the like etc. I have never sprayed but seem to have aphids on the plants in the allotment this year.

Snute, I spray every other week with SB plant invigorator. It's a systemic insecticide that the bugs can't get immune to, so they can't infect the plants, or pass on diseases to other plants. Once a month they all get a good spray of fungus fighter, which seems to keep viruses to a bare minimum, this is also systemic so it helps the plant fight against viruses. The results from spraying regularly are very evident as the only bugs I have trouble with, is the earwig . For them, I use diatom powder and 3" pots stuffed with straw. Hope that helps a bit.

The few dahlia's I planted on the new half allotment are smut free at the moment, maybe because dahlia's have not been planted on this plot in the past.

I use dynamec, decis, provado and trying a few new ones this year. I have to as I always get spider mite and thrips.

I don't know much about dahlias, but that looks fabulous and there is rain still visible on the flower. Wow!

That is probably the best way to show them off on the forum because they would be altogether and good for reference. Can you bear to go through putting them on again in the dedicated thread for dahlia blooms @markymate? I would not be able to choose the best dahlia out of that selection. They are all quite different and very beautiful.
