I am looking to gain better control of red spider mites on my dahlias this season.
With this in mind can anybody recommend a good insecticide ?
The two I have earmarked are Majestic and Dynamec, the latter is more for the control of two spotted spider mite which to my knowledge I dont suffer with.

RSM is reputed to dislike wet/damp conditions and do seem to thrive where it is warm and dry so regular spraying/misting with water should help to control them.

Yes Sweetpea, RSM thrive in hot dry conditions such as what we had last year. I think the main problem with them we spray for various other pests throughtout the season and these same pests are the spider mites natural preditors. So in a way the elimination of one lot of pests creates a problem with another. Not that I want to really allow aphids to breed on my plants just because they eat RSM. A natural oil based agent seems to be the way to go which restricts or suffocates the lifecycle. Mark
