Hi I thought I would just say hello and introduce myself...I have previously been posting on another forum as 'uk-hostaman' but as I've taken on a allotment and my plant pallet seems to be expanding all the time,I needed to extend my some what limited plant knowledge and this place seems perfect! As my previous 'username' suggests I have a passion for hostas but also a keen interest in roses, galanthus, grasses and dahlias of which I use to grow years ago in my late parents garden. Having already gained so many tips and ideas from reading this forum I'm sure I will enjoy it here very much.

Hello and a warm welcome from me Anthony I love hostas, but the ones I have most success with are in hanging baskets where the slugs can't reach them

Welcome Ant, I love your 'avatar' pic. Good luck with your allotment! My 'avatar' picture is what I'm going to try and achieve in part of my allotment...took some verbena bonariensis cuttings in the autumn and got plenty of rudbeckia 'Indian Summer' and 'Prairie Sun' seeds to sow.

I agree with Cat anthonyk, that will look lovely, I like to see flowers on allotments, I've seen some great ones in the past with wildflowers, poppies & echinaceas as well as the ones with the more traditional dahlias, chrysanths etc.,apart from looking good they attract pollinators to your veggies!
