cant fatholm my tubers out the ones in the greenhouse at home have been on heat since jan the 1st still some showing no sighns of life tried everything whent down to the alotment where i potted spare tubers on and left with fleece over them give them a sprinkle of wate every now and them only to find those showing plenty signs of life lol oh well will just make up the shortfall of the ones i want at the a g m

Winholme Diane, Weston Pirate,Amber Festival and Oakwood Goldcrest still not showing.

I had the same bother with my two Hallmark tubers, Ian told me to pour boiling water over them then cut them in half! Did this and within 4 or 5 days bingo shooting away grand! Also covered them with a bin liner.

Hi diggie oakwood goldcrest is a pain in the a_ _ e to get going bin bag it put in airing cupboard , can't say about W Diane I've got a box on heat , and one off heat am taking cuttings off both heats on 20. The one off heat is last years pot tuber always good for a back up.

Hi ste b, thanks for that. Oakwood Goldcrest now in the airing cupboard. As I said to Raymond recently there's a lot to be said for starting tubers in the home.

Some tubers throw well one year and not the next, oakwood is consistently bad every year , mine are still in the big greenhouse I have not moved them yet , going to lift in a few weeks it worked last year see how they go this time.
