Hapet is really beautiful form, @raymond
Who is the creator?
You have done very well for a first show year, and should be delighted with your success. Please don't be too hard on yourself.... the stress isn't good for you and some will have taken a lot longer to achieve this level.

You've produced some nice blooms there Raymond despite the weather. Your 'Travellers choice' vase was impressive with that fimbriated bloom in the middle. Looking at that bench I'd have given it the red.

The blooms some where nice @davidv decs and ball need a lot of work. My staging sucks ! Hahaha
The travellers vase I should have used an odd number blooms. I had 4 Andrea. I should have used the 4 Andrea at the back. The fimbriated bottom middle and the two zoe either side I actually had two of the fim and left one at home. Could have used the two fims and I had a kenora sunset at home as well that I had cut.

I am thrilled with my achivements dianthus just been very picky which is what you have to do to improve. Thrilled with my zoe this year. Got me three firsts. Not stressing at all just being fussy. Want to improve next year and I have already set my target classes. The Hapet stands for Peter haslhofer. Profilic raiser in austria some things he does are nice others more garden dahlias but again nice.

Fantastic show at Harrogate despite the different layout which meant some people had trouble finding us. Premier Gold Award for second year running so we were really pleased as 2 days of very wet weather before we cut and as most of you know everything is grown outside with no protection. Credit must go to all the Exhibitors who made it an outstanding show and to the Northern Committee and volunteers who help out. I thoroughly enjoyed my judging duties again doing the Giant Dec Championship with Carl and Frank Newberry. So pleased to see that it was Tom Bebbington who won it, especially in his final year of showing at Harrogate and with it having been 30+ years since he last won it! Judged the Giants for 4 years now, 3 times at Harrogate and once at Wisley, and this years was probably the closest, particularly in the 3's. Over all I think we had 6 entries in the 12, 7 entries in the 6's and 9 entries in the 3's and then the colours to do- overall something like 156 vases to be lifted and judged! Some might say we could have ignored some to save time but exhibitors have made the effort to put vases on the bench so my personal opinion is that as a judge we need co consider all the vases, especially as there can be a variation in pointing with in each set that can, in the end, make a difference to the overall outcome. Brilliant show and well done, and thanks Ian, I did enjoy it.

Thanks diggie and congratulations on yours ! I think we should both be very pleased with our results. I know I am thrilled and to be honest still in shock. Heard some very good blooms at your show so in strong company. Well done. So overall this year in three shows I had the following Kent dahlia show 1st novice 1st members small cactus or semi cactus 1st open class bi colour 2nd three specimen blooms distinct classifications 3rd 2vases small semi cactus 3rd three distinct colour class Second show 1st small cactus semi cactus 1st single bloom collarette 2nd small Dec 2nd min Dec 3rd single bloom collarette Kent fed show 1st small cactus semi cactus 1st min ball 1st 3 specimen bloom distinct classifications 2nd min Dec 2nd travellers choice vase 2nd specimen bloom up to med size 3rd small Dec 3rd collarettes. What I am really pleased with is the Dec and ball dahlias improved as the shows went on . Now planning for next year.

I had a lovely surprise in the post. My two firsts certificate from Wisley, which I knew about, but what came out next was a total surprise. A silver medal and certificate, with a small gold plaque, saying I had won the JW Montague Cup, for best vase in the novice classes at the National....... Totally gobsmacked!!!! I really had no idea I'd won it. That's really capped a fantastic first year showing. Can't wait to do all again next year...... only better!!!!
Hope everybody's had a good year showing
