Well we've been fairly busy the past few weeks. First lesson learnt for this update is to count better before the season starts so you know the dates you need buds to be showing pip size for particular shows. Second lesson ensure you fully understand how to stop plants from development ie knock back to ensure buds develop by chosen dates for particular shows. Lesson three don't panic!!!!! Lesson four ask for help the dahlia and garden community are really knowledgeable and willing to share advice. Lesson five if all else fails panic!!!! Seriously, we are looking forward to trying to put up a vase in our first ever show and we can't thank people like ian , David Gillam, Raymond , Ian k enough for all their help and in particular snute2008 for his patience re show requirements. And finally the late but great Tel for bringing me to the forum and getting us started back into dahlia growing THANK YOU ALL:) We would love to be thanking you all again next month too fingers crossed !! Lol

Entering second "big" show tomorrow Cornwall Dahlia Society at Trelissick. We have a game plan and won't worry about other entries until we have finished staging. Look forward to seeing how top growers perform and what they stage. Che is keen to see new friends and to show off his prize blooms. A great stage in which to learn and boy did we learn a lot just by entering last weeks mini show and talking to the amazing team there. Good luck everyone
