ladybird I don't know if you have anywhere near you that sells plastic 'hula hoops' but you can get them for a pound or two in some toy shops, I bought a couple years ago at the seaside & used them in the garden. You could cut them in half, space them out, put double sided tape along the edge & stick the bubblewrap to it draping it over like you did with the tablecloth, you could then put this over all the trays & just push it all to one end or lift it off to water. It would depend on the width of your shelving & size of the hoops though but may be worth a try?

Never thought of hula hoops sue , thats an idea and I could possibly use my home made cover with that . I do want the whole thing to be removable and to take up little space in storage, so dismantling it fully is a must as well.

ladybird When I see things I like I cut them out and stick them in my scrap books - always good to look back on - I like the water feature - simple but nice! :-))

Thanks Moonlight - it's good to look at them from time to time, especially if I need an idea - I just tweak it to suit

I have quite a few laurentia seeds germinated this year , very pleased with that . still no camera What sort of camera are you getting or are you getting your old one fixed? daisy I like your scrapbook to. my kodak easyshare camera broke so I bought a similar one on ebay for just £5 but lost it in my "horders " craft room . i have luckely found it so here are a few pics of my garden as it is now. The raised patio area, problem with weeds between the slabs and the slab steps sitting on wood are dangerous . just planted sweet peas all along the back of the fence . A neighbour gave me this hardwood table with 4 chairs, she was going to dump them Here is my hooped bed , I plan to use this as a hardening off with plastic cover, then cover with mesh to protect the cabbages ect later . The hoops are removable and I plan to add short tubes to the sides of all the beds this year so I can rotate the hoops easily. I kept it covered over winter so very few weeds, and I will deslug it , putting pellets on the plastic covered with news paper or rhubarb leaves that works a treat before. This is rather a messy area, The plastic wheel barrow is my " nursery" untill I decide where to plant things there is a bramble apple tree, 3 hawthorne trees , a goose berry bush and a Japanese anemone rosie sent me years ago . time to plant out I think.

An apple tree in a wheelbarrow ?
What an excellent concept.
Presumably when the fruits are ready, you can just wheel it down to the house for harvesting ?

As you can see my garen is sloping in all directions which makes it difficult to design. I am posting these to shame myself into getting it sorted Here are a few more from a different angle . I`m wondering what to do with the area between the patio and the greenhouse . As you can see my cheap greenhouse polycarb is yellowing and cracking but I have replacement panels ( behind the living room sofa ) the side was replaced 2014 so I need to finish it this year . I am now wondering where to place my new 4 X6 greenhouse I have cold frames in front of the greenhouse i could put it there OR perhaps use one of the 4x8 raised beds they already have a wooden base.

The small area in front of my 4 "raised" beds in the last picture is my herb area though I stick a few flowers in to brighten it up. It has been filled with a sandy soil. There is parsly, thyme, chives and wild garlic there . the large rosmary bush will have to go though way too big.
