You could plant your apple tree at the side of the patio ladybird slightly towards the back so that it would grow & give you some shade & privacy on that side eventually.

This tree is going to be very big sue , it would probable swamp the area in a couple of years oh dear I`m not a very good decision maker which is probabley why no progress is being made.

You could try the apple tree there in a big pot for now (I'm just trying to get it out of your wheelbarrow ladybird! ), I've got a few apple, pear & peach trees all in big containers & if you keep them watered & fed they do well? If your tree is grafted it might be on dwarf/semi dwarf rootstock so may not grow enormous, it would probably take years to outgrow the space anyway, I work on the principle my O.H. keeps saying to me - by the time it gets big enough to be a problem we'll be dead! You could make that area between your patio & greenhouse your 'fruit' area & put your raspberries etc. in there too - in pots if necessary, I've got a 'fruit' area between the shed & greenhouse. I dither about where to put things as well & have things in pots waiting for a permanent home.
