As requested by Cherry, here is my scone recipe. 500g Strong white flour 2 medium eggs beaten. 75g caster sugar 25g baking powder 75g soft butter 225ml milk 1 egg for egg wash. Preheat the oven to 210c (fan oven) Put all the ingredients (not the spare egg for egg wash) into a mixer, mix up till combined. No more than 2 mins on a slow speed. Or mix by hand. Tip mixture onto a lightly floured board. roll out to about 1 1/4 inches high. Cut out your scones and put on a baking tray and brush with the egg wash. Chill them in the fridge for around 30/45 mins. Brush with more egg wash and bake for around 15 mins. I usually check at around 12 /13 mins but my oven is quite fast. Leave to cool on a rack. You can put any flavouring in you like. Sultana's, choc chip and peppermint are lovely. (1 tspn of peppermint flavouring).

Thank you Rosie for taking the trouble to type this recipe for us. I can vouch for the taste. They did not taste 'bready' like the ones at Brodie.
