I always leave it until the last minute, removing the netting over the pond, and now the frogs are arriving so I've had to splosh around in the mud and half light this morning, to remove at least some of it so they can get in, I wonder if I'll remember to do it earlier next year

I don't usually bother covering ours, it's only small & I worry about birds, frogs etc. getting tangled up or trapped under coverings, I just fish out any leaves every so often & as I don't have any fish in the pond I don't think a few leaves do any harm, that's my excuse anyway!

When i fed the fish this afternoon there was a large frog in the pond. Will see if I can get it out later and transfer it to the wildlife pond.

saw the frog again this afternoon and decided to relocate ite it to the other pond. when I netted it I suddenly realised I had interrupted coitus as it was two frogs doing what frogs do. Anyway when I got to the other pond it was alive with frogs and a lot of spawn. deposited them in the pond and left them all in peace. on the way back past the greenhouses I saw one of the roof glazing panels had been blown off so had to fix that. Luckily it was polycarbonate and not glass.

well at least they finished what the started lots of activity now it's warmed up, I just hope the cold that's coming back won't ruin too much of the spawn
