There are a few willows around the garden and i want to keep them in check, so when would be the right time to coppice them? Also do you cut them right to the ground or leave a wee stumpy bitty . Can you do it annually or bi-annually? Sorry about so many questions, i've never had willow to contend with before Thanks chums

I do mine at the beginning of every winter but you are still not too late now.
You will need to leave a small stumpy bit because when you chop it, it will shoot from below the cut.
You will get a much better result if you do it every year.
