I'm with Grindle and roofgardener , very envious of your set-up johndoe . Looks great. I hope that you have as good a season this year as last year. All the best. Johnjess Hello JJ. Hope all yours are going okay. Thank you for your kind comments, yes, I'm really going to have to up my game to make that one giant step up to win the National from Tony Kingdon. Its going to be a lot of fun trying though

Well, that is just gob-smackingly impressive, johndoe. You must put an AWFUL lot of work into it. I like the idea of the side-by-side polytunnels. You can park your Cessna in the left-hand one, and your Beechcraft in the right-hand one

Thanks roofgardener. I do spend far to much time with my dahlias, but I get real enjoyment from them. Love going to the shows, meeting friends and fellow growers. Its worth all the digging and the silly 4.30am watering's and feedings. Had to sell the Cessna and Beechcraft as the neighbours complained about the noise One another note, Harrogate autumn show has now moved to Newby Hall just outside Ripon.

Hi johndoe, I've got call of mine started but not a lot of movement yet. I'm sure they'll get going one of these days.

Good luck with your dahlias this year.

Oh!! is that the whole show or just the dahlias??? The whole show Lou. Apparently, Harrogate council said they were losing to much money on the show. It seems that an average of 30,000 people over the weekend paying £18 each, plus the benefits to the town, hotels restaurant's and the shops, etc, wasn't enough. So a show that's been going since 1947 has ended. Not sure that re-mortgaging the site to build those new halls didn't have anything to do with it. Just rumours I heard. I'll have more information on the new site when I go to the AGM in March. You could go on Newby Hall's website and see more, certainly looks a very nice place.

Thanks for this info. I''ve been to Newby on a number of occasions. Its much "trickier" to get to than the showground; lots of twisting country roads. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. Its a much smaller site for a start..

Sounds like it's going to be fun. The show committee will hopefully have more information and a site map available at the AGM on the 15th of March. Will keep you informed.

Things are coming on nicely in the greenhouse and at the allotment. The cuttings first 4 trays of cuttings are now ready to pot up and have rooted well , another couple of weeks and I'll be taking exhibition plant cuttings.
At the allotment I had 4000 litres of spent mushroom compost delivered, which is now ready on the beds to be rotovated in this coming week.
NDS AGM yesterday so I've got more info on Newby Hall.
