Glad to see you again vc, it's all too easy to get obsessive about plants

Thanks Rosie I keep buying plants, online mainly, but have scores of pots of plants waiting for their "perfect" homes . They eventually get planted but by then I have added more. Fun though

Hello to all. I live in Melbourne Australia on the coast where the next landfall is the South Pole. At the Moment we are in a stinking hot 30+++and dry summer (no decent rain for weeks) northern Aust are have extremely bad floods. I am not new to Gardening or Clubs as I am only 80 years young. At the moment many of our Roses and Dahlias are flowering. I also grow Orchids/Natives (not hot house). I also have 3 Terrascapes growing in Fish Tanks. Two are being re done. I have just redone this 5ft as it was getting old and over grown. Keith

Hello keith & welcome, that looks absolutely beautiful! There's a fashion developing now over here for 'waterscapes' as well with just waterplants in aquariums & bowls which I like, we used to have tropical fish years ago & I used to like planting up the tank. I have just a tiny bottle garden at the moment with a couple of ferns & stones in but would love something like your terrascape, don't have the room though & I'm hopeless at keeping plants alive indoors.

Sue
Its like all gardening you have to know what you are doing and have all the right conditions and they grow faster than weeds.
One thing you cannot see its watered from the bottom. I have set up an Under Gravel Filter (As used in Aquariums) This is the best way to water via the tube by doing it that way you eliminate any dry areas.
The light is the common fish tank light nothing fancy.

We used to have an under gravel filter in the fish tank keith, that's a good tip to use it for watering from below.

Guten Morgen, mogleygull, and welcome to Garden Friends. What sort of things do you intend to plant, and tell us more about your plans for your garden ?
