Won't everyone be in the same position, or will they be growing in a greenhouse?

I knew my questions were too stupid. Back to the drawing board. I thought I could do this quietly hanging onto WF's coat tails.

They could be growing in a greenhouse, but more likely anyone showing in July will have started their plants of very early in a heated greenhouse and stopped them maybe beginning to mid April time.

Hey......no questions are too stupid.....You should hear some of the daft questions I will be asking soon ....I may have 2 growing seasons under my belt....but I still have to check things. One thing I have learned is to write down "everything"....makes for good referencing the following year....(you don't look so daft the next time : ....

Cherry your questions were not stupid, if we do not ask we do not learn. The difference is Wf has her show a good 5 weeks after yours so growing timing is different, take Lou for instance her timing of her dahlias will be different to mine i want the majority of my blooms in mid Sept, Lou wants hers around mid August.

Cherry just let them grow straight up, they either flower in time or they don't,

Which variety out of mine would be the first to flower and I can then give them prime position? I took good cuttings of Gateshead and Amber and something else, but they are outside.

A question from me, now. I still have three pots in the propagator, and the plants have no sign of shoots at all. Should I chuck them out as a bad loss now? Should I empty them out and see if the tubers are firm?
Has this happened to any of you, please, and did I do something wrong?

They flower late, but if you want dahlias that flower early, paul chester and lindas chester can definitely be in flower early july....and they are quite nice too Paul Lindas

No, that won't do Paul, but thankyou. Tel knows which ones I have, which gives me a start.

I like those I'm glad Tel chose the ones I am growing. I didn't realise they all flowered at different times, it is all getting more complicated by the minute.
