That is all very clear Tel, thank you, I managed it all easily. I tied all the string round as I went. There were three plants which had side buds. I will keep a daily eye on them now, this rain will make them grow. Well we seem to be still on track with the majority of the plants WF. we want plenty of small buds on the plants after this weekend onwards, then hopefully you shall have flowers before, during and after the show.

Should I water or feed them? I dug loads of manure into the beds last autumn.

Why do you put vaseline on them Tel? Its to stop your favourite "forkytails" getting into the blooms and nibbling the petals Rosie...so get your vaseline jar at the ready ;D

I think she needed to see the answer first, just in case she had to censor it. ;D

I have never seen leaves as big as mine on the dahlias. They are bigger than a teaplate, but not as large as a dinner plate. They have not been fed. Fen soil does not really need it. Should I hold the watering? The show was held on Saturday, so I would not have made it.

Give them a good drink when you remember. ;D

Did anyone have any dahlias in the show Cherry, because July is really to early for dahlias, the majority of shows with dahlias, commence mid Aug onwards.
