From the few dahlias i did grow from seeds last year i only kept one plant to try again this season, the rest went on the compost heap. The seedling has now come into flower, I would class it as a Miniature Decorative, it seems to have a good bloom angle and a nice straight stem.  |

That's encouraging......your "namesake" I presume?.. Terrycotta is now in its 3rd season, this one is a 2nd year seedling, a different coloured dec, i am trying again for evaluation. |

A picture i took a couple of days ago, some of the petals are damaged and still green eyed, not happy with the centre on this first bloom, it is in a pot and was in the greenhouse during the heatwave, i hope further blooms are a improvement or it will be either a garden dahlia or a compost dahlia. ;D Not really sure what colour to call it, anybody any suggestions.  Will take the camera with me tomorrow, this pic was taken with the mobile phone, so could be better. |

This is a small bed of decorative and ball dahlias that have been allowed to grow straight up, these hopefully will produce some seed for next year.  |
