Thank you Cherry , it's quite a bold little bird, when I was planting up the windowbox last week it was almost in the back door hopping about the pots watching me as I was potting up at the back doorstep!

Lovely pictures of your Robin Sue, I had one hopping round me when I was cutting back some of the perennials, they can be quite bold when there is a chance of a snack

Your robin looks just like mine Sue Little posers aren't they? Do like your pics. Must try harder to get some bird pics good enough to show. Our pigeons have mastered using the peanut feeder so will try to get a pic of that.

Thanks peony & sweetpea . He knows that when I start changing the planting I throw some of the old compost out into the other pots along the path & likes rooting around in it to see if there are any juicy worms etc. in there!

The little blackcap bird is still in the garden hanging around with the sparrows, it looks like a young male & is very sweet. I managed to get a couple of photos of it hidden in the bushes today, through the window again so not very sharp.

Good pics Sue, I've never seen a blackcap round here. Hope its OK, looks as though you have plenty of sheltered hiding places amongst your shrubs

Thanks peony , I'm hoping it's just sheltering somewhere, haven't seen much of the sparrows either so maybe it's with them.

I know, I'm keeping an eye out for it Derek, I thought I saw it today but it may have been one of the sparrows as I couldn't see it clearly in the bushes.

Spotted the blackcap today, it wasn't sitting with the sparrows but it did fly in & land on the chaenomeles in the front garden & then fly off again. We also had a couple of longtail tits in the front garden as well, there had probably been more of them as they tend to come in a big group but I think I just caught sight of the last two before they flew off.

My husband's camera has a bigger zoom, so he took these pictures. Later, we got a cloud of goldfinches.
