Collared doves. They are a couple and are inseparable. If I don't have seed out for them they wait. Every evening they come and wait on the overhead electric wires. They are a couple, but recently there is a third. Menage a trois?

I would say watch out for fights between the 'love rivals' whisker but they always seem so docile & peaceful that I can't imagine that!

Actually, there has been a bit of fighting, with #3 been sent packing! The "couple" I have are very attached to each other. It's lovely to see the way they come in advance and perch on the overhead wires, waiting for me to come out with some seeds to top up the feeder.

The long tailed tits, dunnocks and a wren have reappeared in the garden this week, but haven't seen many blackbirds on the bird table yet, although I've seen them taking the cotoneaster berries.

Good to see them all again isn't it peony , I haven't seen any longtail tits in our garden for a few weeks but I did hear some in the trees not far away this morning so they are around. The robin is a regular again now though.

I have not noticed whisker's pic of the collared doves before now. What a super picture. I have not got my feeders up yet, but the robin is getting demanding. The birds are taking rowan and viburnum berries from the hedgerows. My farming neighbour has her feeders out and there were loads of birds using them. They were mostly goldfinches, but the type of birds can change in minutes as they go around together.

The bird feeders have been in place for about a week and I have seen about 6 birds altogether. Only one was a goldfinch eating the nyger seed. I used to get lots of birds and I think it is because I have cut down all the growth around the kennel. The feeders hang from the crossbars. The hedges have not been touched and they still meet the kennel run. The actual kennel will go into the arcon for the winter. The fact that the cat sleeps in there a lot might put the birds off! Oh well, they will soon be back.

There was quite a selection of birds in the garden this morning, coal tit, bluetits, dunnock, wren, sparrows, collared dove, blackbirds & a cheeky robin who posed for me on the crab apple tree. Not very good pics. as I took them through the window on zoom.
