hi hope every one had a good xmass i have just checked my tubers and some of them are sprouting i have them stored in an airing cup board is there any thing i can do to discorage it as its still a bit early for me yet

Airing cupboard is too hot. ideal condition is cool but not freezing. imho

I agree with sweetpea Rob, a airing cupboard is way to warm for them. they should be kept in a frost free place and cool. Temperatures around 10c and above will encourage new growth.

sorry its a stone pantry not an airing cup board no heat other from the kitchen but obviously to warm i will have to move them to the shed in polistyreen boxes

well went up and checked some of my dahlia cuttings i have had a problem with them rotting at the base i have taken the lids of the propergater i used a good quality potting compost and i was amazed to find either mushrooms or toad stools in the pot where my dahlia cuttings were is this a first ;D

cheers tell i have looked on the ndc its not there it should be purple but he recons the one at station house is a diff colour

I looked it up in the NDS classified directory, it was raised in the USA in 1994 purple small ball, can only find it on the USA sites. If you Google Dahlia Jessie G purple ball it will bring up the sites that stock it. hope that helps.

I use jiffy pellets for my cutings robh along with clonex rooting gel.They work for me,you can get 150 for about 12 quid of ebay.I paid £30 for 600

have had no probs with my greenhouse all winter i had it between 2sheds but decided to mo it to a sunnyspot my mistake woke up at 2 this morning to find my greenhouse wrecked with the windplants all over sorted what i could but will have to see what daylight brings if it can be salvaged im going to move it back it might not get the sun allday but at least its sheltered its the worst the wind has been here
