after a disasterous stat i have got some of my cuttings rooted about 30, so havent rooted yet there will be about 20 and the tubers as when the greenhouse blew down they were scattered all over so not shure what they are but they are for the back of the garden i have decided to invest in a glass greenhouse ,i fancy useing a wood stove my pall uses a heating cable but he recons he had better results useing a parafin heater u guys got any thoughts as to wich u prefer would a parafin heater do an 8x6 its all a learning curve so i am not goin to be too disapointed with the results this year at least i will hopefully learnt by my mistakes ,the weather is realy bad at the moment here so things are a bit slow when will be the best time to plant out i was thinking hope fully the begining of june i seemed to have crammed a lot into this post

You will have to have a look on the American sites Rob, not sure when their season is for selling tubers though.

Thanks Peony I've taken half down, the side by the fence and the straight bit down from the other side and just left the slopping bit on roof, hoping everything doesn't get scorched.

I would use an electric heater with a thermostat. If you want to root cuttings, electricity in the greenhouse is a good idea. Never used bubble wrap.

I'd guess ours are 10-14 days behind where I'd expect them to be right now, getting our first orders for potted on plants out now.

Really find that strange. My cuttings i'd say are 2 weeks advanced on last year. I took about 200 in total from about 25 tubers, and could have had at least that many again. In fact, this miserable weather is ideal for me as it's holding them back a bit. First year ever i have had 100% success rate with rooting them.
