About 70% of mine now in 5" pots and stopped.
Decided to try poms this year for the first time and ordered Minley Carol. They are about 4-5" tall, very compact, showing buds already. Is this normal for them?

Showing buds already will be ok for minley carol scrumpy,it needs a double stop because blooms tend to go oversize,so if you have shows in the middle of august I would stop it now then again in about 4/6 weeks and hopefully that should keep the size down.

Cheers, i'll get rid of those buds. They just seem so weak to be able to cope with a double stop. We shall see.

Well I was getting on well in he new garden but it looks like the weather has put a dampener on that (literally).I have deciced to keep one of the raised beds and grow some veg it is 20 feet by 14 feet and I am gonna grow some swede, sprouts, leeks, red cabbage and some pea pods. This area is cleaned and rotavated I just need to split it into 4 beds. All that is left to do is clean the weed off the rest of the garedn and rotavate, but it looks like a greenhouse day today. .The area I grow my poms in is rotavated and ready and I just need to rotavate my covered area in my original garden, still not sure what varieties and amounts to grow as it remains to be seen if I will get a frame put up in the new garden this year.At the moment it looks like 240 covered and grown tight in the original garden plus 2 dozen poms and some minatures and tryouts in the new garden uncovered.

My new one for this year was going to be Barbarry Sultan. Unfortunately, the cuttings I received were worse than diabolical. I've tried hard to get some sort of shape and growth from them but still not too good. Will probably grow them for pot tubers for next year.
