Managed to give my plants a foiliar feed this morning( I think this is the 1st day of proper sunshine!) Used a well known product. I have found that it dissolves when mixed with hot water much better than trying to dissolve it in cold(no sand like residue leftover)

Scrumpy, that must look absolutely amazing when your dahlia's are in flower...would post a picture when they do flower, i would love to see it In theory, Wednesday August 8th at 8.30 pm will be the best picture of them all, so will take one or two then for you. It's the one day of the year I look forward to the most. Just as the sun goes down.....if we ever get any sun to go down...the light is just right to get the colours in all their glory and they look their best. On here are some from previous years...just click on the next button s938.photobucket.com/albums/ad225/oldshobdonion/dahlia%20blooms/dahlias%202010/?action=view¤t=050810060804.jpg#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs938.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fad225%2Foldshobdonion%2Fdahlia%2520blooms%2Fdahlias%25202010%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3Dmedcactusentry.jpg They are gorgeous Scrumpy, i do like #15 and #27, just beautiful

Got a bit of catching up to do. Been away since Sunday on holiday in London and everything has gone mad......buds all over the place need removing. Not far off the first Senzoe, Barbarry Melody, Ryecroft Zoe and Ruskin Bride to bloom. Looking at Senzoe, stems just about OK, a few more high potash fertilisers will make sure. Plenty of others will be in bloom before the show, looking forward to seeing them as they should be, not grown on a side bud, main one being Dikara Moon. As for the giants, the best show will be a week after Shrewsbury. One if them , Kea Magic, is producing some strange wonky shaped stems that I assume will eventually straighten out. Soon find out

I've got systhane and some dithane left over, been spraying with both but a few tell tale spots are appearing here and there. Neither of those seem to sort out powdery mildew on my sweet peas.

Cheers, will get some. Me, love Blackpool, well Gillespies Bar not far from Winter Gardens, and the Ramsden Arms by the railway station at least. Both great beer, Gillespies for sport channels and Ramsdens for it's snooker table, both of which i'm sure your granddaughter would love instead of the pleasure beach and sea world and zoo
