Had a look up new allotment today and have decided not to take it, took a spade with me and it only went in 6 inches.Apparently the gardens on that part of the site were cleaned up by a digger which took all the top soil off as well as all the weed hence the reason those gardens are full of hens ,ducks and geese.I will wait until a better garden comes along and go back to planning what to grow in the allotment I already have.

The council did the same on some allotments on the top lane of our site, some people took the plots then wondered why they were getting water logged those that did not give up the allotment had to make raised beds out of anything they could get their hands on. I can imagine taking one of those plots on and the dahlias rotting off after the first heavy downpour.

Got confirmation of my order today, have ordered'sir Alf & Hillcrest Candy as my two new ones this year, it was a toss up between Sir Alf and Bryn Terfel which I have wanted to grow for a while but decided on Sir Alf.
Cant wait for them to come in April along with Robs chrysanths, looks like our plot will be very flowery again, lucky we have the other one for veg lol
